Lama Ole Nydahl and his wife Hannah are the first Western students of the Sixteenth Karmapa Ranjung Rigpe Dorje, one of the greatest Tibetan meditation masters of the 20th century.
During their honeymoon trip to Nepal in 1969, they met the spiritual leader of the Kagyupa tradition of Tibetan Buddhism. After a few years of adventure in the Himalayas, the Karmapa asked them, as his disciples, to bring the Buddha's teachings to the West. Fulfilling that wish, they have founded more than 100 Buddhist churches in Nepal since 1972. 600 Diamond Way Buddhism centers around the world.
